Have made a lot of progress on Composition. Yellow. Blue. this month. It is interesting to see how or where, each day, palette-triangles are placed. In this image, placement looks like waves or arches, something I noticed throughout the process of making this painting. This indicates compositional movement that developed in the painting process.
The day was reserved for affixing palette-triangles--an extended process, but that is its beauty.
It is the time to see and understand the original impulse for placing a particular palette-triangle next to another. Working so closely to the surface of the painting, colors and lines continue from one palette-triangle to another, making connections purposeful and connections unexpected. From a distance these connections may not be obvious. However, these connections are just that, they help to "bind" the painting.
