Chroma. Gray. Blue.

I think of Chroma. Gray. Blue. as a companion to the previous painting Chroma Gray. I am continuing to explore horizontal and vertical lines.

In both paintings, colors run horizontally, and graphite "drawn" lines run vertically. In Chroma Gray vertical lines are quite delicate, almost like woven fabric, here the vertical lines are bolder. Assembling these paintings, and especially Chroma. Gray. Blue. is complex--horizontal color lines and vertical graphite lines are placed at the same time, being that these qualities are inherent in the palette-triangles. Once the triangles are placed and affixed, no new color or lines are added to the painting.
